Fans of music duo Alex & Sierra received a double dose of terrible news. The two X factor the winners, who were also in a relationship, shocked fans by admitting that they had not been in a relationship for over a year. Even if that’s not all! The duo also revealed that all this time they had valued their time as a group and ultimately decided to go their separate ways.
Yep, that’s the end of Alex & Sierra as fans know. The singers of “Bumper Cars” broke their silence on how they came to this very difficult and painful decision by writing a moving letter to fans on Twitter. They wrote: “We had a terribly magical time with each other and with you. Unfortunately, things have changed a lot in 8 years, and although we haven’t told the audience, our romantic relationship ended over a year and a half ago…. But as everyone knows, we’ve been best friends forever and we’ve really tried to keep A&S going. ”
“However, we’ve come to a place where it’s better to branch out than to continue making music together. This last album and this tour were hard in our hearts. So thank you to everyone who has ever watched videos of us, bought a CD, came to see us live, bought some merch, or just enjoyed the music and listened and shared with friends. No group lasts forever, whether they dated or not, but we will cherish every memory. ”
Rightly so, fans were absolutely heartbroken by the decision. While instead of blaming or sending negative comments, everyone was overwhelmingly supportive of Alex & Sierra’s decision. Shortly after the letter went viral, they tweeted, “Crying while reading your replies. I did not expect such understanding and kindness. I really love you ALL. Always.”

As they explained, it was not an easy decision to make and we certainly wish them all the best. Alex and Sierra’s music and their adorable red carpet appearances will surely be missed, but we can’t wait to see where this next chapter of their career takes them. Fortunately, they seem to have the support of their loyal fans in whatever they choose to do next.
