The three-member musical unit ALTIMA announced on Friday that it was taking a hiatus. The members made the announcement on day one of the “Animelo Summer Live 2016 -Toki-” concert at the Saitama Super Arena. They explained that they are “entering a phase of recharging to become even bigger”.

The group formed in 2011 with Maon Kurosaki (OMAN) as lead singer, King Cream Soda and old movement member MOTSU as a rapper, and fripSide‘s Satoshi Yaginuma (SAT) as a sound producer and synthesizer player. ALTIMA released their first single, “I’ll Believe”, in December 2011 as the first ending theme of the animated series. Shakugan no Shana III (final).

The group has since contributed to the second ending theme song “ONE” for Shakugan no Shana III (final), the second opening theme “Burst The Gravity” for the Accel World anime, and the second opening theme song “Fight 4 Real” for the Hit the blood lively. They released their first and only album to date, TRIANGLE, in 2014, then performed at Otakon that same year.

At Friday’s concert, the band joined the musician KOTOKO by performing the Accel World: Infinite Explosion theme song “Plasmic Fire”.
