Musicians always face the difficulty of choosing to prioritize a song’s popularity over its uniqueness, but for VIXX rapper Ravi, he decided to put his own musical identity to the fore in her recently released album, “Roses”, which is her fourth mini solo solo. album, June 3 at 6 p.m. KST.

According to Ravi in ​​an interview with The Korea Times, he shares how he has released a lot of singles to date, however, he thinks he has failed to tell people what exactly his musical style and color are.

With his new album, “Roses”, he hopes to be able to clearly show who he is, what genres he can do well, and what kind of sounds and lyrics he can do.

Ravi also revealed that a lot of people have told the rapper that they don’t like his songs. The VIXX member also confessed to making an effort to make his previous singles more appealing to the general public. “But few of them actually listened to my songs when they were released”, said, Ravi.

He added that the songs he released were neither popular nor reflected his own style, so from that point on he set out to build his own unique musical identity.

Ravi revealed to have 198 protected songs under his name

In his solo mini-album, “Roses,” which includes seven songs, Ravi is credited as the lyricist and songwriter in all songs. This brings the number of songs copyrighted under the Ravi name to an astounding 198 songs registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).

As for the number of copyrighted songs, Ravi honestly shared his thoughts. He shares how there is a burden and it seems like a lot of money. He finds it a bit overwhelming when numbers turn into keywords, especially when there are people like RM and G-Dragon from BTS.

“But at the same time, it’s fun. I do what I want to do”, Ravi added.

Meanwhile, Ravi’s solo mini album, “Roses” features seven songs from different genres that offer a different perspective on love, like the double tracks “Flower Garden” and “Cardigan”, “Chee $ e” , “Red Velvet”, “Roses”, “What point” and “I do not deny”.
